Ancares Leoneses
The Regional Hunting Reserve “Los Ancares Leoneses” is located in the northwest corner of the province of Leon, bordering with the Autonomous Communities of Asturias and Galicia. Most of its territory consists of the heads of the Cea, Ancares, Burbia and Tejeira rivers, which flow into the river Sil, in addition to the Balouta creek that flows into the river Navia. There are many huntable possibilities on the Reserve, being the most important the hunt of chamois on “Rececho”. Iberian ibex stand out as emblematic and growing species, and they are bringing down major trophies since its reintroduction. The rest of “Rececho” hunting is distributed among roe deer and red deer, with their different types of trophies. The unpredictable wild boar and the wolf -usual visitor of these lands- are also highly coveted by the most experienced hunters. Read more >>
